This quick and easy French Green Bean and Mushroom recipe has been on my Thanksgiving menu for years! It’s super easy to prepare takes less than 15 minutes to put together, and it’s so flavorful! There’s a really good flavor combo – heat from the chili flakes, acid from the lemon zest and lemon juice, sea salt and butter. I hope you add this to your annual Thanksgiving menu too!

- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ cup bone or chicken broth
- Zest and juice of 1 small lemon
Instructions:
- In a large cast iron skillet, over medium heat, add oil and butter and heat until butter melts. Add dried chili flakes and allow to cook for 30 seconds.
- Add sliced cremini mushrooms to the pan and cook until golden brown.
- Add green beans, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then using large tongs, mix all ingredients until combined.
- Add broth, lemon juice and lemon zest, then use tongs to combine all ingredients. Cover with lid and allow the green beans to cook for 6-8 minutes until vegetables are al dente. Adjust seasoning if needed and transfer to a dish and serve immediately.
