Chocolate Churro Smoothie (Paleo, Grain-free, Dairy-free)

No one said you have to drink alcohol for Cinco De Mayo, and if you prefer to drink your dessert instead of a cocktail, this is the perfect treat. This Chocolate Churro smoothie has the perfect combo of chocolate and cinnamon – and the secret ingredient? Siete Foods’ Grain-free Churro Strips! Yes, you read that correctly. I am a huge fan, and if you’re a newbie to their products, they have a great podcast episode on How I Built This where they talk about the road to their company’s success and their brand’s mission. Such an inspiring story – go check it out!

INGREDIENTS:

Chocolate Protein Powder: I’m currently using Apex Energetics ClearVite-CHC, which has no sugar and uses ingredients with a blend of targeted phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to support the intestines, liver detoxification, and sugar metabolism. BUT, you can use your favorite chocolate protein powder as an alternative.

Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: I used Trader Joe’s cocoa powder – it’s easy to find and a good deal for the amount.

Hemp Seeds: This can be found at any health food store and Costco now offers this brand in a larger quantity, and it’s full of minerals and nutrients your body needs.

Cashew Milk: I prefer using the unsweetened Elmhurst Cashew Milk for my smoothies, because there are no weird artificial ingredients – just pure cashew.

Siete Foods Grain-Free Churro Strips: Because it wouldn’t be a chocolate churro smoothie without it! And fair warning – these are highly addictive.

Happy Cinco De Mayo, friends! I hope you enjoy some good food – like my crunchy beef tacos and this smoothie with good company.

Hasta,

Jasmine
